Slipperfields Country Estate is a wedding and function venue situated at the foothills of the Lady Slipper Mountain, just outside Port Elizabeth. Media Axis designed and built the Slipperfields website in early 2011, shortly after the venue was established.
Jana Rademeyer (who owns and runs Slipperfields), had a vision to create a venue that would appeal to the modern bride. In order to reach her target market, she realized that she would need to establish an online presence.
The Slipperfields website has been designed to reflect the classic country elegance of the venue, and to show off the versatility of the facilities, through a range of photographs of real weddings. In order to attract prospective brides to the website, Jana has been utilizing Facebook as a marketing tool and is encouraged by the results, “When I look at our Facebook hits and link between our website and other social media sites, I am 100% convinced that it plays the biggest role in terms of marketing.”
Jana also says that she often receives compliments on the website, and attributes the fact that the Slipperfields social media is linked to the website as a contributing factor to the appeal, as content is always fresh and relevant, “We constantly update photos and promos on our facebook page. Social media is part of everyday life, and we aim to give daily snippets of info to prospective clients.”
With 75% of clients finding Slipperfields through the internet, it is no wonder that this business has placed emphasis on their online marketing. They have realized that they need to take control of their online presence and ensure that they are available on social networks to interact with clients as well as reach new customers.
We encourage our clients to be proactive about marketing their services or products online. The first step to creating an online presence is to launch a website. Media Axis will provide advice and assist you in establishing a website that will best suit your needs and budget. We believe that the sooner your business enters the online environment, the better - and the wonderful thing is that as your company grows and evolves, your website can too.

Local Driver Service takes Social Media Seriously
When Home James Home, a Port Elizabeth-based private chauffer service (offering clients a safe alternative to getting home after a night out), launched their business, they incorporated an online media plan from the start.
A good website was critical to the business moving forward and engaging with potential clients, it had to communicate well and look great, as well as provide clients with a simple way to sign up online. Media Axis designed and developed the website for Home James Home.
Once the website was live, Home James Home began actively promoting their services and immediately launched a strategic Facebook marketing campaign. And it has paid off.
On their sign-up form, they ask client to mention how they found out about the company, here are their most recent statistics:
28% - direct Facebook notifications on their own or a friend’s page
5% - paid Facebook ads
11% - from friends who are members (might be indirectly from Facebook)
30% - didn’t fill in this section, so unknown (again, some of these could be Facebook)
26% - other
“The first 28% were important to get the business going initially. This was a much bigger percentage of the total members in the first few months”, said Sue, who has been actively involved in driving the brand forward on Facebook.
We are encouraged to receive this feedback from our clients and to find out that the website that we created for them has been integral to their success. Home James Home has been consistent about their Facebook activity, and have realised the potential of it as a marketing tool. Their posts have been useful and have provided potential clients with information worth sharing. Click here to visit the their facebook page.
